Top CyberPsychology News

Internet dependence and gambling addiction are not related at all, says a new study.
The Times of India - June 29, 2010 - N.A. Dowling, PhD, from the University of Melbourne, and M. Brown from Monash University, both in Australia, found that both behaviours, although addictive, are unrelated but share psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and loneliness. The authors report that similar vulnerabilities, attributable to feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, loneliness, and social isolation, appear to contribute to excesses in Internet use and gambling behavior. "It is clear that effectively evaluating and treating these disorders requires a clear understanding of the individual symptomatology and internal conflicts particular to each patient," says Brenda K. Wiederhold, PhD, MBA, BCIA, Editor-in-Chief of Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking, from the Interactive Media Institute, San Diego, CA. The article appears in Rapid Communication in Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking. To read more, visit http://bit.ly/b0iOBl.

Mediterráneo, Castellón, Spain, June 29, 2010 - Traver Francisco, in the garden of the Hospital Provincial de Castellón, where he has worked for years answered questions on how there is now a merger of knowledge between healthcare professionals. What are the objectives of this new training cycle? The truth is that there is a gap in medical and psychological education, which affects not only these but also other disciplines that will eventually be integrated into a new level of knowledge that will call for systemic understanding and exploring the connections between different areas of knowledge under a common umbrella. Who is the master? What profiles are you looking for? The master is not intended to be limited only to the health professions, but is designed to serve as bridge to other disciplines that can help in this project "merger of integrated knowledge" that somehow is a systemic condition of knowledge without renounce the spiritual approaches.
